Beyond the Stay: Private Beach, Organic Farm, and Luxury Experiences at Hydra Bay Resort

A luxury villa isn’t defined by square meters or a sea view alone. At Hydra Bay Resort – VIP Beach Villas, the villa itself is just the starting point for a range of experiences rarely found together anywhere else on the Peloponnese: a private beach, an organic farm, a family-owned wine cellar, and a full calendar of events.

Private beach and seawater pools

All three villas — Elandra, Stilvi, and Thermisia — offer direct access to a private beach, just steps from your room. Each villa also has its own seawater pool, treated with a natural active oxygen system rather than chlorine — a gentler alternative that’s especially kind to sensitive skin and young children.

The organic farm: an authentic taste of Greece

Just steps from the villas, the estate’s private farm brings guests closer to the Greek countryside. Set among olive groves, vineyards, and pine-covered hills, guests can:

  • Meet deer, horses, chickens, and pigeons
  • Enjoy light horseback riding or walk the estate’s nature trails
  • Feed the animals and take part in guided, family-friendly farm tours
  • Photograph the gardens and olive groves at their own pace

All farm products — cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil, olives, honey, tsipouro, and estate-grown wine — are complimentary for guests during their stay, and private tastings with the local Agiorgitiko grape can be arranged in partnership with Nemea wineries.

The family cellar: WeSud

The family behind Hydra Bay Resort also owns WeSud, a wine restaurant honoured with Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence 2025, with a cellar of more than 1,000 labels just minutes from the estate. Through the concierge, guests can arrange villa wine provisioning, sommelier-paired dinners at the villa, or a table at the family’s own restaurant.

For a deeper dive into that same cellar, WeSud also hosts a guided tasting through Greece’s indigenous grape varieties — Moscofilero, Malagouzia, Kidonitsa, Assyrtiko, Xinomavro, and Agiorgitko — sourced from the Peloponnese, Northern Greece, and Santorini. Led by George Goutos, a certified WSET Diploma holder, the experience is offered as a seven-wine tasting with a cheese and cold cuts assortment (90€ per person) or a nine-wine tasting (120€ per person), with a minimum of four guests to fully come alive. Reserve a tasting through your concierge. (pdf attacteched)

The private boat as an extension of the villa

The estate’s private fleet — a 46 ft yacht, a Seadoo Bombardier speedboat, and a RIB boat — departs directly from the estate’s own dock, offering transfers to Hydra, Spetses, Poros, Ermioni, and Porto Heli, customized day trips with swimming and snorkeling, or sunset cruises stocked with farm products and Nemea wines.

Events & retreats: weddings, corporate, wellness

The estate hosts:

  • Weddings and christenings on the beach, in the gardens, or at Villa Elandra’s private chapel
  • Corporate retreats with high-speed Wi-Fi, discreet service, and team-building activities
  • Wellness and yoga retreats, drawing on the calm sea and pine-scented air
  • Family gatherings, anniversaries, and milestone celebrations with full exclusive use of the estate

The takeaway

At Hydra Bay Resort, the villa is only the beginning. A private beach, a working organic farm, an internationally awarded wine cellar, a private boat fleet, and a dedicated concierge team all come together to create a luxury experience that goes well beyond the usual idea of a “villa holiday.”
